Day 1 - February 25th, 2018

After a long day of traveling, including a 4 hour layover at Dublin airport, we finally arrived in Edinburgh!  We dropped our luggage at the hotel, met up with our tour guide for the afternoon, David from Local Eyes Tours, and began a two hour walk about the center of Edinburgh.  David showed us some locations that inspired the work of one of Edinburgh's most famous residents, J. K. Rowling, including The Elephant House, Greyfriars Kirkyard, and George Herriot's School.  We then proceeded to Edinburgh Castle, for stunning views of the city and the Firth of Forth, as well as encompassing over a thousand years of history atop Castle Hill.  Everyone was cold and tired, however, so we headed out to dinner and then back to the hotel to sleep.  If everyone is as jet-lagged as I am, they might still be awake but without much energy to do anything!  Tomorrow, we'll be going back out with David to tour the rest of the Old Town, including the Royal Mile, and parts of the New Town.  (I hadn't been able to unpack my camera by the time we went out, so these were taken with my Samsung S8 camera)
