Day 9 - March 5
I’m Louise. I’m 15 and a sophomore at Forman School. I chose the Scotland Winterim because
I've always heard by my artistic mother that Scotland is one of the most
beautiful places in the world.
Today we left the hotel fully packed bright and
early! We were in the cars and on our way as early as 7:15. Our first stop was
what was meant to be our sunrise shoot at River Sligachan. Though it was not
quite a sunrise it was a stunning light that fell on the stones, water and
mountains. After snapping many pictures on the tripods we made our way back up
to what we had passed previously… Sligachan bridge. Sligachan bridge is a
magnificent bridge. We then headed on our way to the next location. We parked a
few feet away from a beautiful pathway overlooking Eilean Donan (a small but
mighty castle). We took pictures of the land and random puddles and big rocks
with Eilean Donan in the background. We then jumped back in the vans and headed
to another viewpoint of the castle. This time we right on the walkway heading
up to the castle! After each taking many pictures we took about an hour and a
half to eat and look around the gift shop. Before we knew it we were back in
the vans on our way to another viewpoint of Eilean Donan this time we were up
way above it and took photos with trees and flowers being focused on as the
subject of the shot. Jumping in the vans and driving around another twenty
minutes each time we made two more stops of beautiful views of mountains and
pieces of land along the road. After around two hours in the car we arrived in
Inverness. In no time at all we were on a walking tour all throughout Inverness
with a very nice man in a kilt!
Hi my name is Molly Reinhardt, I’m a sophomore at Forman and I’m in Chase dorm. I chose this Winterim because I love traveling, history, and photography. I’ve been so excited for this trip because I will learn more of Scotland’s history and I will be able to learn more about photography too.
